Each set of monsters comes with appropriate lore pertaining to their lifestyles and habits, as well as their lairs and additional combat options such as lair actions. Additional Player Options are also provided at the end of the document, allowing dragonborn, draconic sorcerers, and my own dragon shaman class to base their features on one of these new dragon types.

Draconomicon II: Metallic Dragons was a bit smaller in scope, focusing on new metallic dragons such as the adamantine, cobalt, iron, mercury, mithril, orium, and steel dragons.

I am quite happy to have found this, been looking for these particular dragon types. Got a lot of different things but hadn't found stats the Purples and such until now.
Can't wait to see what others might be added in over time. I do have a few of the metallics done! It's been slower going than I'd like, but progress is being made. I am loving this document so far! The three chromatic dragons presented in this form have meshed really well into my campaigns and their flavor added to the Dragon Shaman class has added more diversity to how that class plays in my worlds as well.
I'm curious as to when the next installments of dragons metallic, gem, anything else will be released? Would love to know when because I'm very eager to apply more from this into my game worlds! Boy I am trying to work on these; unfortunately my personal life refuses to be placed into nice clean boxes to let me spend as much time on brewing 5e content as I would like. I wish I could give a more concrete answer, even give a potential timetable or something, but I just don't have one available.
That is understandable. I will await patiently until you can update with more. I'm looking forward to the gem species especially, they've always been a fascinating subject! It has become my favorite class on a number of occasions. It just feels right and feels like a class that should always exist.
It's why I'm eager to see how you approach it with updated metallic and gem dragons. My players are also loving the introduction of the class, especially because it's Dragon related but isn't a spellcasting class, unlike most Dragon-related content. I DO have potentially bad news; metallic dragons are definitely coming, and I'm likely going to be adding some other elemental "dragons" as well, but I'm not sure if I will end up releasing the gem dragons.
Matt Colville's gem dragon's are pretty awesome and unique in their mechanics. Now that I've seen them, I'd be afraid of accidentally copying his work when I make my own. And generally I don't like to make content for stuff if someone else has made a version of that content I already like for example, I was going to design a Pugilist class, but the Pugilist by Sterling Vermin Co is already so well done I didn't want to even attempt to introduce another.
I'll just need to think about how I'll want to do that. I wish I had more time to dedicate to working on my DMsGuild content to get more material out there. Hello, i am in the process of running a campaign where 2 characters are playing silver dragons, do we have any idea when part two for this will be out?
I am having a hard time finding stiff for my players to work with. I don't have a release date planned, and I heavily apologize. Personal life has gotten heavy and I'm not able to find much time to work on the new dragons. That said, I don't have any plans to release supplemental stuff for silver dragon PCs. Unless you simply mean wanting more dragons for them to interact with. What sort of content were you looking for? Minor formatting error in 2. Other than that, I'm excited to hear about the new direction you're taking this.
Oh my. Version 2. New Metallics are definitely coming! I do have a community question; would people prefer the new dragons be introduced slowly over time so maybe one or two get added at a time or wait for all the new metallics to be introduced at once?
In my personal opinion, I would prefer them all at once, However, drip-feeding them is a viable option since it means feedback can be given one dragon at a time. Thank you so much I love your work I am willing to pay for part 2. It's definitely coming! As more time passes though, I'm leaning more and more towards just changing this document to be an all-encompassing Draconomicon, and updating it when new dragons comes out, rather than making all-new documents.
Haven't quite decided yet. I do have plans to release a Draconomicon III with gem dragons, yes. Metallics will be coming first with Draconomicon II. Do you know when the next addition will be coming out? I'm constantly checking and hoping. I'm super excited for it. Unfortunately still working on it. I have three or four homebrew projects I go back-and-forth on depending on my inspiration and the time I have available to me I wish I could make this a full-time thing, but unfortunately I can't and my real-person job has gotten very busy in the last month or so.
I do promise you it's being worked on, though. I can tell you that before Draconomicon II comes out there will be an edit to this pdf here, as I discovered a few spelling errors, mistakes in the statblocks Ancient Brown Dragon should have a burrow speed of 40 feet, for example , and I am currently re-working my Dragon Shaman as its own class instead of a Barbarian subclass.

As a result, Catastrophic Dragons are only detailed in the Monster Manual 3 and in a pair of articles in Dragon Magazine issues and , whilst the Scourge Dragons have never seen the light of day. The Forgotten Realms Draconomicon was, like its predecessors, basically a Big Book o' Dragons for DMs, but with a lense specifically on the dragons of faerun, rather than the more setting neutral stance that its first successor would take. Chapter 1 is titled "Reference". This chapter talks about various aspects of dragon-dom within Faerun; the list is long and covers many different sub-topics:. Chapter 2 is titled "Geography". It's basically a "where do dragons live? Chapter 3 is where the focus of each chapter starts getting obvious.
