DNASP TUTORIAL PDF

The analysis of DNA sequence polymorphisms and SNPs single nucleotide polymorphisms can provide insights into the evolutionary forces acting on populations and species. Available population-genetic methods, and particularly those based on the coalescent theory, have become the primary framework to analyze such DNA polymorphism data. Here, I explain some essential analytical methods for interpreting DNA polymorphism data and also describe the basic functionalities of the DnaSP software. DnaSP is a multi-propose program that allows conducting exhaustive DNA polymorphism analysis using a graphical user-friendly interface. This site needs JavaScript to work properly.

DNA sequence polymorphism analysis using DnaSP.

Use DnaSP to estimate molecular evolutonary genetics parameters for two data sets. Among these characteristics are: nucleotide diversity pi , average number of nucleotide differences k , haplotype diversity, codon usage bias, and whether or not there is evidence of natural selection. Observe Arlequin 3 in a demonstration to see some of the features of this program. Observe Structure 2.

DNA Sequence Polymorphism Analysis Using DnaSP

Can someone help me? I need to know which data is required to perform different test with DNAsp: intra or interspecies sequences. The "sp" in DNAsp stands for "sequence polymorphism" which reflects that this software is principally designed for the analysis of intraspecific sequence variation data. However, there are some analyses of intraspecific variation that require an outgroup sequence e.
