I read this one as a teenager and it left a strong impression then. I was shocked by China's one-child policy that I didn't notice faults in plotting and writing. It's a story about Lea that was adopted by german family from China.
While writing an article about China she founds out that the story of her adoption was a lie. The story itself is interesting, the theme is important, but d Rating: 2. The story itself is interesting, the theme is important, but delivery was sloppy. The whole book really lacks longer descriptions, but especially the ending - it's way too short and dry.

It felt rushed, description was so quick that sometimes didn't even make any difference in what was happening. Maybe I'm not used to this kind of storyline but I wasn't one of my favorite which makes me sad because as I said before, I was so excited. So this adopted girl in Germany starts research on her original family after she went to a museum exhibit, so the book takes a very light approach to the one-kid policy via the adoption of the main character, also a bit about bullying. It was not that interesting to read. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Readers also enjoyed.
