A company representative sent a quick, friendly, and informative response to my email query about shipping dates for the product before I purchased it. I've been very happy with the performance of the batteries during the month or so that I've been using them.
They last about twice as long as the OEM battery, and the external charger allows me to always have a charged battery ready to go. Great product, great service! The battery seemed to charge as normal. Will run it through the paces next week on vacation.
Being a lithium battery [can be dangerous to ship if not packaged adequately], I was happy to see that it was packaged using plastic and cardboard wrapped box. The only critical observation I have at this point is that the adhesive wrap on the battery case is a bit thick--making it difficult to remove from the Sony wall charger and camera [DSC-W]. More so, the charger than the camera. Not a deal breaker, though. Very pleased and highly recommend this replacement battery. Collins Alexandria, VA.
One thing I've learned over the years is that you get what you pay for. Although most brand specific items are a bit pricier on one hand, I've rarely had issues when it came down to where the rubber meets the road. Photography is a passion and I used to use "other brands" to save money.
This battery is an extra, to have ready when I need it. As with other Sony batteries, I've only had one, in the past 8 years that's had an issue. It turned out to be a crooked contact within the top cap. Amazon sold it direct and I had a replacement within a day and half, sending the other back through an easy and simple process, dropping it off with UPS. Done deal. Please be warned that there are plenty of sellers selling knock-off batteries or China-sourced batteries that are often incompatible with US camera models.
I would receive a "For use with compatible batteries only" message whenever I put in the camera. After getting my refund, I bought the more expensive version from Amazon still much cheaper than buying directly from Sony and it works great. The packaging was clearly for the US market and the battery is clearly genuine. I'd recommend you save yourself some aggravation and second-guessing and just buy from Amazon instead of one of the many resellers. See All Buying Options.
Received as promised. Needed spare for extended trip to Japan where I am writing this review. Excellent value with excellent power useage. After 3weeks of daily use, I recommend this product for your Sony camera. Currently unavailable. Overall, very pleased with this product. The batteries charge fairly quickly and I love that you can charge 2 at once.
However, the USB cord is quite short and battery cases are pictured but not included with the product. I did read the product description before buying and it does not state that battery cases are included, which I was fine with, but they probably shouldn't be pictured if they are not a part of the product ordered in case someone does not read the description prior to buying.
My order arrived before the specified date and I am just happy to be able to use my camera again. Another item for mom. Her camera died and she needed a new battery. I found it for her and she's happy. Now if she can remember how to add pictures from her camera to her computer.

Sure beats having to charge the batteries inside the camera like Sony says in the manual. This works well with my Sony camera. Before with my sony camera's battery the one that came with it , it would be very slow to turn on and off, but for some reason, when I used this battery, the camera turns on and off very quickly!
A great substitute! Lee MD. Love the ability to charge the battery external from the camera and for charging backup battery. Very versatile as it also comes with the car charger plug in. The companion battery is not of the same quality and does not hold the same charge as the OEM battery but still a very good backup. I would give it 5 stars if the battery held its charge longer.
I just needed a battery charger, but when I saw the price I also bought an extra battery, why not. It's been over a week I'm using the camera with the new battery and it's still going Great product, greater price!!! Only 14 left in stock - order soon. Have been using it for a couple of months and did several rechargings too. So far so good without any problem. In fact slightly better than my original Sony NP BG1 as it holds a longer charge which translates to more shots.
Also it displays the remaining charge in HH:MM instead of just a graphical indication as in the case of the original battery. Gave it 4-star cos it seems very slightly bigger than the original BG1 - tis can be noticed when inserting the battery into the camera compartment Only 19 left in stock - order soon.
I am very pleased with this purchase. The battery seems to work as well as an OEM battery and the charger fits perfectly to ensure the battery stays in place during charging.
